Exercise
Why NibbleWatch doesn't add exercise calories back to your daily eating allowance: This isn't a judgment about effort — it's a mathematical one. Research on calorie-burn estimates, including MET-based formulas like the ones used here, consistently finds they run high: commonly 20–50% over actual burn, and by much more in some studies. Since your calorie goal is already an estimate with its own real margin of error (shown as a range on the Daily Goals page), stacking one uncertain number on top of another compounds the error rather than correcting for it — usually in the direction of eating back more than was actually burned. There's also a well-documented pattern where the body quietly reduces everyday movement on exercise days to conserve energy, something no app or tracker can measure. For these reasons, NibbleWatch treats your calorie goal and your exercise log as two honest, separate pictures, rather than having one adjust the other.
